. CONFIRMATION FACSIMILE OF AN IMMEDIATELY REPORTABLE EVENT (2-83-19)
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

This confirms the telephone conversation at'1615 on February 11, 1983, between Mr. R. M. Poulk, Jr., and Mr. C. W. Hehl, concerning an innediately reportable event per Technical Specification 6.9.1.81.
During a re' tine inspection of the drywell, a concern was expressed on the seismic stability of instrument air tubing to the SRV/ ADS relief valves. An inspection by on-site Engineer; determined that these lines were not supported in accordance with applicable spacing tables and that they probably would not withstand a seismic event. Due to the expense involved in performing a computer analysis on these lines vice the expense to install required supports, the plant has decided to install additional supports and not perform additional analysis. The lines in question are 1/2" and 3/4" tubing from the ADS accumulators to the valves and from the non-interruptible air line header to the remaining SRVs. Supports have been installed to allow for short-term operation on Unit No. 2 and 1cng-term corrections will be completed during the scheduled Spring maintenance outage. Short and long-term corrections on Unit No '. I will be completed prior to startup from its current refueling outage.
