Dear Mr.'Denton:
-In accordance with 10 CFR 50.55a, attached is the Quad Cities Station Units 1 and 2, Second 10 Year Inservice Inspection
As explained on page-1-1 of the Attachment, this program is applicable for the one-hundred twenty (120) month interval.beginning February 18, 1983 and March 10, 1983 for Units 1 and 2, respectively.
-The second 10 year ISI/IST program has been written in
-accordance with Section XI of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel
-Code, 1980 Edition, including the winter 1980 addenda.
The major differences in the program are as follows:
1)
The reference to each specific system line number and the total number of welds on each line has been deleted.
Each type of weld is listed giving its Class and how it is to be examined.
2)
The ISI Program includes a new-section with a table listing the component supports and the type of examination required.
3). Section 3: of this program addresses the Snubber Program.
Included in this section is a list of all snubbers referencing the ISI Support Number, the Technical Specification number, type, system and test parameters.
4)
The IST Program has been only slightly altered.
The new Cooe requires'the pump parameters to be recorded on a quarterly basis instead of the previous monthly requirement.
Therfore, the Station is dropping its relief request for this item.
