Dear Sir:

On Monday, July 27, 1981, we reported a potential 10CFR50.55(e) deficiency regarding an inconsistency in design infornation between test data, catalog data, and design allowables for Cable Tray Support Systems.

Specifically, the Strut Support Systems used for certain bolted strut fittings, could be subjected to slippage at loads less than the published allowable loads.

In Reference (b) we provided an interim report on his item, and indicated that we would submit another report by February 10, 1983.

In Reference (c), UE&C provided the status and efforts taken to date to resolve this concern, and committed to completing an updated report by December 6, 1983.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that we plan to submit a final report on this subject by January 31, 1984, following our review of the UE&C report. -

Very truly yours, YANKEE ATOMIC ELECTRIC COMPANY 8302250033 830219 PDR ADOCK 05000 J. DeVincentis S Project Manager j ALL/fsf cc: Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Service List
