Stormwater Outfalls #17/18 Continuous Flow File No.: CN-702.20-2
Dear Mr. Robinson:
The purpose of letter is to describe the observed conditions and corrective actions taken at Stormwater Outfall #17/18. This outfall is located at the Southeast corner of the Conventional Waste Treatment Basin yard. Since Mid-March, a continuous flow has been observed coming from this outfall. Because the source was unknown, Catawba Site personnel began collecting and returning the emuent to the Conventional Waste Treatment System, and also sampled the emuent daily for pH, conductivity, and chlorine.

Our investigation has led us to the conclusion that the source of the emuent at Stormwater
)
Outfall #17/18 is leakage from the Conventional Waste Treatment Basins. The Catawba Site is in the process of evaluating the long-term solution to this situation. As we discussed, the emuent is still being collected and returned, and will be sampled twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Catawba Site personnel will analyze for conductivity, pH and chlorine on Tuesdays, and for pH and conductivity on Fridays
