Crystal River Unit 3 Dccket No. 50-302 Operating License No. DPR-72 10CFR61 - Licensing Requirements For Land Disposal Of Radioactive Waste

Dear Sir:

In order to comply with the " Waste Classification" requirements of 10CFR61, Florida Power Corporation (FPC) will utilize the NSA/IMPELL report titled

" Methodologies for Classification of Low-Level Radioactive Waste from Nuclear Power Plants".

FPC, through telephone conversations with members of the Division of Waste Management, understands the staff has agreed that this method is acceptable on an interim basis if utilities are actively pursuing necessary data to develop site specific correlations.

FPC is pursuing such additional analytical correlations to use in the waste classification process.

To comply with the " Waste Form" requirements of 10CFR61, FPC will use the
