The subject potentially reportable deficiency was based on the attachment of cable tray supports to existing NNS-1 pipe supports. It was indicated that the pipe support calculations did not account for the loads induced by the cable tray support.

United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission December 5, 1983 Attention: Mr. Richard W. Starostecki Page 2 Generally, other disciplines do not attach to NNS-I pipe supports.

Exceptions do exist in specific cases, these cases were identified through two methods.

1.- Interference Elimination Team (IET)

The IET identified. potential interferences prior to construction so that supports could be relocated or combined into multiple discipline supports in a controlled pre-engineered fachion.

2. Those supports specifically designed as multiple discipline supports.

A review of the IET work was undertaken, and it was concluded that for permanent multiple discipline supports, installed, existing analysis accounts for all loadings.
