(Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2), Docket Nos. 50-445 and 50-446 Gentlemen:
The Board' Chairman has requested that Applicants' counsel memorialize for the parties a decision reached by the Board and communicated to Applicants today regarding the status of affida-vits concerning the pipe support design allegations.
As the
. parties are aware, the Board has determined to admit into the record the affidavits of !:essrs. Walsh and Doyle which were sub-mitted in response to affidavits sponsored by the NRC Staff to close out the remaining open issues on those allegations.
Upon informing the Applicants of this decision the Board Chairman stated that Applicants would be given an opportunity to file responsi*ve affidavits.
Applicants' counsel subsequently recuested that the Board identify the particular issues in those affidavits as to which it believed a response by Applicants would assist the Board in finalizing its initial decision on these matters.
The Board Chairman has informed Applicants' counsel that upon review of the record and its draft decision the Board has determined that it will not be necessary for Applicants to provide additional information on these tatters.
