Dear Mr. Keppler:
This is to provide a final report on several rejectable weld indications in the pressurizer and two steam generators at Byron 1.
For NRC tracking purposes this deficiency was assigned number 83-05.
In reference (a) Commonwealth Edison reported that several weld indications had been found during the preservice inspection program and we indicated that additional NDE testing would be performed.
Reference (b) documented the results of all of the 4
i examinations and our plans repair of indictions in the steam generators.
We also provided our basis for not pursuing repair of the pressurizer indications and requested NRC concurrence.
Since reference (b) provides complete details of these indications and our planned corrective actions, that report should suffice as a final report on the 50.55 (e). reportable deficiency.
