1. NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Umerick Unit 1 began the month of August at a nominal 100% of rated thermal power. On August 4 reactor power was reduced to 58% to support troubleshooting worx on a steam flooding damper. Scram time testing of certain control rods was also performed. Reactor power was returned to 100% on August 5, the following day. Reactor power was maintained at 100%

of rated untR August 22 when it was reduced to 90% to support Control Valve exercise testing.

On August 3 and August 30 power was reduced to 99% due to hlgh turbire back pressure. Unit 1 ended the month of August at 100% of rated thermal power.

l 11. Challences to Main Steam Safety Relief Valves There were no challenges to the Main Steam Safety Relief Valves during 190 month.
