Potential Defect Concerning ASME Section III Material [RDC 81(83)]
Dear Mr. Keppler:
This serves as our next interim report pursuant to 10CFR50.55(e) concerning the potential defect associated with the Class IE electrical penetrations (IR72) furnished by Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Previously submitted correspondence on this subject was transmitted September 15, 1983.
During the meeting held September 21, 1983, with Westinghouse Electric Corporation and the subvendor to Westinghouse who supplied the bulkhead material, a review was made of the procurement and handling history of the material in question.
As a result, we are investigating the utilization of ASME Code Case N-242 for this material.
Presently, we are in the process of confirming that the material for the bulkhead is that as represented by the material test report.
We are presently planning to submit our final report on this subject by April 6, 1984.
