Your letter dated March 20, 1995 (Reference 1) concluded that Edison's submittals with regard to Generic Letter 92-01 (GL 92-01) contained proprietary information but would nonetheless not be withheld from public disclosure. The purpose of this letter is to withdraw the Edison GL 92-01 submittals in accordance with the provisions of 10CFR2.790(c). Specifically, Edison is withdrawing the submittals dated July 6,1992, August 27, 1992, January 29, 1993, and June 22, 1994 (References 2, 3, 4, and 5).

Edison is contractually prohibited from releasing this proprietary information for a period of ten years from the date of receipt unless specific written authorization is received from Combustion Engineering (CE). Edison's contract with CE stipulates that " Combustion shall have the right to participate with

[the] Company in its efforts to secure such confidential treatment, and, if such efforts are unsuccessful, Combustion shall have the right to revise the proprietary information in order to minimize the proprietary loss."

Consistent with our contractual obligations with CE and consistent with the April 4,1995 letter that Richard S. Siudek (CE/ABB) sent to William T.

Russell (USNRC) (Reference 6), Edison will resubmit a response to Generic Letter 92-01 within 30.iays after C-E has released the relevant proprietary information to Edison an a non-proprietary basis.
