Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
l In accordance with IE Bulletin 83-06, " Nonconforming Materials Supplied by Tube-Line Corporation Facilities at Long Island City, New York; Houston, Texas; and Carol Stream, Illinois," Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) has. completed a review of the list of purchasing and receiving companies given in Attactanents 2 and 3 of the bulletin.
Carolina Power &
Light Company has also conducted a review to'idencify construction, operations, Architect Engineer and Nuclear Steam Supply System vendor procured items'with Tube-Line (T-L) materials.
Based upon these reviews, CP&L has determined thst to the best of our knowledge, no T-L material has been

purchased or received by Brunswick Steam Electric Plant.
The general concerns axpressed in IEB 83-06 have also been reviewed j and are applicable to BSEP.
Carolina Power & Light Company is investigating the possible use of additional inspection and testing during receipt inspection to strengthen our QA program capabilities in detection of f rasslulently supplied material.
This investigation is scheduled for completipn during the first quarter of 1984. Carolina Power & Light Company j
will submit a description of the results of the investigation and a schedule for implementation of any actions resulting therefrom by June 1, 1984.
