Dear Sir:

The NRC was notified of a potentially reportable deficiency in the referenced telephone conversation. At that time, it was estimated that a determination of reportability would be made within thirty (30) days.

Due to the extensive investigation and evaluation required, an Interim Report is attached. It is now expected that_this information will be finalized by January 20, 1984 at which time a complete report will be submitted.

PVNCS UNITS 1 & 2 I. Potential Problem Surveillance inspection of Units 1 and 2 ERF isolation cabinets identified by tag numbers 1s-SDD-C06, IJ-SDC-COS, 2J-SDD-C06, and

-2J-SDC-C05 do not meet IEEE-384 Class 1E separation criteria.

The cabinets were supplied by Energy Incorporated under purchase order 13-JM-106.

II. - Approach To and Status of Proposed Resolution Bechtel engineering has requested the services of- an Energy Incorporated representative to -inspect the subject cabinets. A copy _of DER 83-70 will be sent to Energy Incorporated to provide reportability and technical justification for corrective action.

III. Projected Completion of Corrective Action and Submittal of the Final Report Evaluation of this condition and submittal of the Final Report is forecast to be completed by January 20, 1984.
