Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 Prompt Report Licensee Event Report No.83-143 (Docket No. 50-361)
San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 Pursuant to Section 6.9.1.12.b' of Appendix A,' Technical Specifications to Facility, Operating Licenses NPF-10 and NPF-15 for San Onofre Units 2 and 3, respectively, this submittal provides the written confirmation of'our~ November 12, 1983, notification to the..NRC of a reportable occurrence involving the onsite power distribution system.
On November 11, 1983, with Units 2 and 3 in Mode 1 at 100% and 80%
power, respectively, Limiting Condition for Operation 3.0.3 was entered for approximately-12.inutes beginning at 1430 as a result of considering Emergency Chiller E336 inoperable.
Subsequent
. review has identified the possibility that the chiller should not have been considered inoperable.
We are continuing our review of this matter and will keep you informed of the progress of our review.
If the event is confirmed to be reportable, a 14-Day Follow-Up Report and Licensee Event Report (LER) form will be submitted by November 28, 1983.
