1. My name is Imuis Clark. I am the Executive Director of the Government Accountability Project (GAP) of the Institute for Policy Studies,-1901 4

2. I have read the three page affidavit of Billie Pirner Garde and confirm I

! that I received a call from a person who identified himself to me as a welding quality control inspector from the Catawba nuclear power plant calling for information and/or advice for his co-workers situation 1

regarding preparation for their appearance in the on-going operating licensing hearings.

3. This call was received on or about November 3,1983

4. He told me that he happened to have friends who were being made to ao "over and over" their upcoming testimony by Duke Power Company attorneys. i He said these friends were afraid and felt intimidated. The tension among

the workers was intense, according to the caller.
