SUBJECT:
Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 Technical Specifications Change Request No.93-254 Removal of 125/250 Vdc Battery Load Cycle Table
\\
Gentlemen J
By letter dated August 23,1994, PECO Energy Company'(PECO Energy) submitted a Limerick Generating Station (LGS), Unit 1 and Unit 2 Technical Specifications (TS) Change Request (i.e.,
93 25-0) that proposed to eliminate the repetitious 125/250 Vdc Class 1E Battery Load Cycle Table from TS that is also currently located in the LGS Updated Final Safety Analysis Report l
(UFSAR).
- The proposed LGS Unit 1, and Unit 2, TS pages 3/4 8-11 and 3/4 8-12 supporting TS Change Request No. 93-25 0 are being re-submitted along with Bases page B 3/4 8-2 to correct errors l
that currently exist on these TS pages. TS Change R_ quest Nos. 92-02 0, and 92-034, both e
titled " Changing LGS Refueling Cycle from 18 Months to 24 Months," were approved by the NRC by letter dated June 28,1994; however, certain survegiance requirement Intervals were -
inadvertently changed to 24 months and they should not have been. In the June 28,1994 approval letter the NRC acknowledged a supplemental letter dated June 10,1993 from PECO Energy which provided revised TS pages 3/4 8-11,3/4 8-12, and Bases page B 3/4 8-2. The June 10,1993 letter from PECO Energy was in response to a request for additional information and withdrew the request to extend certain battery surveulance requirements at the NRC's request. However, TS pages issued with the June 28,1994 letter (i.e., TS pages 3/4 8-11,3/4 8 12, and B 3/4 8-2) did not reflect the NRC's specific request and PECO Energy's withdrawal of the affected surveillances. The LGS procedures currently require an 18 month interval for the affected surveHlances and do not reflect errors in the TS.
