This letter refers to the inspection conducted by Dr. Richard K. Struckmeyer of this office on
May 12- 24,1993, of activities authorized by NRC License Nos. NPF-39 and NPF-85 at the
Limerick Generating Station Units I and 2, Limerick, Pennsylvania, and Nuclear Group

Headquarters, Wayne, Pennsylvania. At the conclusion of the inspection, a discussion of our
findings was held by Dr. Struckmeyer with Mr. J. Ballantine and other members of your staff.
Areas examined during this inspection are important to public health and safety and included the
implementation of your radiological environmental monitoring program and meteorological
monitoring program as described in the NRC Region I Inspection Report which is enclosed with
this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures
and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.

Within the scope of this inspection, no safety concerns or violations of regulatory requirements
were observed and no reply to this letter is required.
