Gentlement I have today received your Memorandum and order of June 20, 1991, denying my motion to quash a subpoena, and I note that the new return dato is 10 as, Wed., July 10, at Suite 1000, 611 Ryan Plaza Dr., NRc Region IV, Arlington, Texas, Because I am fearful that my life and safety Will be in danger if I return to Texas, I request that I be permitted to appear oither at the NRC headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, or at another regional NRC office.
I understand that hy Drey has discussed With Region IV Public Affairs officer Joe Gilliland the possibility that I could appear elsewhere.
I am willing to comply with the sub?oena and Cennission order -- in that I am willing.to appear a<: that date and time, but not in Texas.
And 1 am willing to produce the documents I have in my possossion.
I have asked Kay Drey to cond this letter to you by faccimile and by first class mail today.
I would appreciate it if you would not.ify her of the day, time, and location of my meeting, and I will contset nor and ask if she has heard from you.
