MONTHLY OPERATING ACTIVITIES - SEPTEMBER 1983 Highlights:
The Unit entered the reporting period operating at 100% power.
During the period there was one outage and two major load reductions.
Details of these are in the Summary.
Total electrical generation was 735,750 MWH.

9/27/83 The Preferred Off-Site Power Source to 4KV Auxiliary Power Buses 2A and 2B was inoperable for a 9% hour period while insulators were cleaned.
9/28/83 The Preferred Off-Site Power Source to 4KV Auxiliary Power Buses 2C and 2D was inoperable for a 6-3/4 hour period while insulators were cleaned.
Condenser halfs were out of service, one half at a time, for a period of 32-3/4 hours during the reporting period for the identification and repair of leaks.
The Control Room Cable Vault Halon System remained inoperable the entire reporting period.
The backup CO System remains operable.
2 The Control Room Fire Detection System remained inoperable the entire reporting period.
Hourly fire patrols are being conducted behind the control room panels.

.The CD emergency diesel jacket water surge tank was overflowing.
Replaced the float valve.
C&I-1 Bourdon tube ruptured inside pressure gauge from steam generator blowdown liquid process monitor, R-19.
The pressure gauge was replaced.
C&I-2 A " grounded circuit" indication was received on the turbine supervisory circuit for "CD" battery, which cleared when the i
associated feeder breaker was opened. A solenoid valve coil had shorted to ground.- After replacement of'the coil, the
" ground" annunciator cleared.
C&I-3 Pressurizer water level indicator channel 1, LI-459A, drifted j
higher than the other two channels by 6%. The level transmitter i -
' drain valve and cap were found Eto be leaking. The transmitter reference leg was refilled to restore correct level indication to NLI-459A.
C&I-4 Train A of the Solid State Protection System (SSPS) tested " bad" i
on logic switch 5502,. positions 7 and 10, (Reactor Coolant Pump i
Under Voltage). Universal Cord A-311 was replaced. Train A was then retested and found to be okay.
