Dear Mr. Keppler:
On October 28, 1982 we informed NRC Region III of a potentially reportable deficiency regarding a group of Masoneilan main steam isolation bypass valves.
Subsequent evaluation has indicated that this deficiency, had it remained uncorrected, would not have adversely affected the safety of operations.
The valves in question, however, have been repaired and inspection of similar Masoneilan valves has revealed that they did not exhibit similar conditions.
This letter is being sent in response to a request by Mr. Konklin that we submit a written withdrawal of this potential 10CFR50.55(e).
