Dear Mr. Gagliardo:
This letter provides an interim report on a potential 10CFR50.55(e) matter concerning laminations in three weld beam attachments. This matter was initially reported by Kansas Gas and Electric Company on June 17, 1983, and additional information was provided in the Reference.
This matter is still under evaluation by the Architect / Engineer and Bergen-Paterson. The status of this evaluation and resolution will be reported to you on or before January 6, 1984.
In the interim, please direct any questions concerning this subject to me or to Mr. Otto Maynard of my staff.
