Dear Mr. Purple:
An integrated leak rate test was performed in February, 1976 which demonstrated that leakage ~from the reactor containment building at R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant was within the limit specified in our Technical Specifications.
Enclosed are fifteen (15) copies of the report of that test titled " Reactor Containment Building Inte-grated Leak Rate Test".
This report is submitted in accordance with the requirements of Appendix J to 10 CFR Part 50 and contains an
/N analysis and interpretation of the Type A test results and a summary
('*') analysis of Type B and Type C tests performed since the last Type A test in October,1972.
Enclosed within the same binder is a separate accompanying report which discusses the results of Type A, B and C tests which initially failed to meet their respective acceptance criterion.
The corrective actions taken following those tests and the conditions of the components which contributed to the failures are given in the y
report.
In each case the failure is attributed to conditions re-sulting from cold reactor shutdown or specific conditions for testing purposes which would not exist under operating conditions when the reactor containment building may be called upon to perform its safety func tion.
Therefore, no undue risk to the health and safety of the public existed, Two (2) copies of this letter and the enclosed reports are also being sent to the Director, Office of Management Information and Program Control.
