Dear Sir:
This letter is being submitted in response to the NRC's request for comments on its proposed Supplement 5 to Generic Latter (GL) 88-20, " Individual Plant Examination of Extemal Events (IPEEE) for Severe Accident Vulnerabilities," published in the Federal Register (i.e.,00FR5734, dated January 30,1995). PECO Energy Company appreciates the opportunity to comment on this proposed generic communication which 1) Informs licensees about proposed modifications in the seismic IPEEE scope for the focused-scope and full-scope plants, and 2) provides guidance to licensees who wish to voluntarly modify their previously committed seismic IPEEE programs.
We fully support the Nuclear Energy institute's (NEl's) position and comments regarding this proposed supplement to GL 88-20.
