Dear Mr. Denton:
This letter provides additional information regarding the seismic design basis for the river screenhouse at Byron Generating Station.
NRC rview of this information should help close Confirmatory Issue 1 of the Byron SER.
Enclosed are the responses to two FSAR questions regarding the seismic design of the Byron river screenhouse which were transmitted in reference (a).
The response to FSAR Question 241.8 regarding the dynamic soil properties includes the results of recent geophysical measurements made at the screenhouse.
A report of the crosshole survey is provided in the enclosed Attachment 2.5J.
The response to FSAR Questions 362.1 regarding the screenhouse seismic design basis is also enclosed.
All three of these enclosures will be incorporated into the Byron /Braidwood FSAR at the earliest opportunity.
Please direct further questions regarding this matter to this office.
