NUTAC Letter to D. G. Eisenhut from E. P. Griffing Dated September 15,1983

Dear Sir:

Florida Power Corporation (FPC), in conjunction with the B&W Owners Group, is preparing a response to Generic Letter 83-28. In reference 1, FPC requested a 30-day extension to the 60-day schedule in order to allow the B&W Owners Group Committees additional time to properly consider the details and scope of our response. During this additional time, the B&W Owners Group has presented some of our programs for responding to Generic Letter 83-28 (reference 2). The purpose of this letter is to inform you that FPC will respond to all the applicable sections of Generic Letter 83-28 by November 4,1983, with the exception of Section 2.2.2.

FPC is actively participating in the Nuclear Utility Task Action Committee (NUTAC) formed to respond to Section 2.2.2 (reference 3); however, this program has not been finalized at this time. Therefore, FPC requests an extension for responding to Section 2.2.2 until March 2,1984.

In view of our continuing participation in the SEE-IN and NPRDS programs, FPC believes that the extension will have no impact on public health and safety.
