Interim 10CFR50.55(e) Report; Titeflex Corporation Flexible Hose Assemblies
Dear Sir:
On October 19, 1983, a potentially reportable 10CFR50.55(e) item was reported [ Reference (b)] regarding Titeflex Corporation flexible hose assemblies.
Flexible hose assemblies supplied by Titeflex Corporation which are intended for use in the Component Cooling Water System (Class 3) and the Diesel Generator Coolant System (Class 3) are not in compliance with Section NC/ND 4810(c), Figure NC4810(c)-1 and NC/ND 5720(c) of the 1080 ASME,Section III, Division 1 Code.
A detailed y,ineering evaluation was undertaken which resulted in a redesign of the
- joint in question to meet ASME requirements.
Currently welding qualifit of the subject butt joint has been completed, and all hose assemblies.
r3 reworked and tested by Titeflex Corporation at their facility.
It has been determined that this item is reportable under 10CFR50.55(e).
A final report will be submitted on this subject when the hose assemblies have been returned for installation.
