Mr. James R. Miller, Chief Docket Nos. 50-338 Operating Reactors Branch No. 3 50-339 Division of Licensing License Nos. NPF-4 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission NPF-7 Washington, D. O.

20555 Gentlemen:

VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 INSERVICE TESTING OF PUMPS AND VALVES The enclosed attachments provide the Inservice Testing Program for pumps and valves (ASME XI IWP/IWV) for North Anna Units 1 and 2.

These programs have been developed to revise our previously submitted programs (Unit 1, October 6, 1981, Serial No. 578 and Unit 2, September 24, 1981, Serial No. 084A) and are scheduled for full implementation by March 1, 1984.

These programs include all of the provisions of the previously submitted programs with the necessary revisions to the component. listings, the relief requests and the clarification thereof.

The program description is divided into a Valva Test Table and a Pump Test Table.

Each revision to the previously submitted Valve Test Table has been designated on the table with " Revision 01".

The relief request and justi-fications are also included on the Valve and Pump Test Tables by reference.

In some instances, flexibility already provided by the ASME XI Code has been utilized.

These items are also indicated with the relief request designation even though they do not require a specific relief request.

The Pump Test Table carries no designation of a revision to our previous submit tal since the testing program was selectively upgraded to the 1980 Edition of the Code for the testing frequency to IWP-3400. This resulted in a revision to all the pump tests.

In addition, IWP relief request #1 requests pump vibration measurement units l

be changed from from mils to in/sec. This also resulted in a revision to all of the pump tests.

As before, these programs will be fully implemented by March 1,1984 and will govern the remainder of the inservice inspection interval.
