This is in response to your letter dated July 11, 1983 (Log No. 1322) concerning Required Actions Based on Generic Letter Implications of Salem

ATWS Event (Generic Letter 83-28). Toledo Edison has reviewed the specific actions requested in Generic Letter 83-28 as they relate to the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.
Significant efforts have been initiated to ensure satisfactory performance of the requested actions and programs. Due to the scope of effort required to assure appropriate conformance, the program content and schedule will not be complete until January 13, 1984. This estimate is based on the current programs in place and the scope of effort initiated in response to the Salem event.
Since the result of a delayed submittal will be a realistic schedule for an appropriate program, Toledo Edison believes that a delay past the November 4, 1983 date will not have an impact on the health and safety of the public.
