Dear Mr. Miller:

Spent Fuel Pool Reracking at the Fort Calhoun Station In a letter dated September 9, 1983, the Commission issued Amend-ment No. 75 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-40 for Omaha Public Power District's Fort Calhoun Station.

This amendment to the license and Technical Specifications was requested as a part of the reracking of the spent fuel pool at the Fort Calhoun Station.

A license condition was added to that amendment such that the District was required to notify the Commission in writing within two weeks after the events as to the following:

(1)

Installation date of the first new rack that contains Bora-flex (completed November 19, 1983; notified the Commission by District letter LIC-83-295 dated November 23, 1983).

(2)

Installation date of the first new rack that does not con-tain Boraflex (completed December 19, 1983; notified the Commission by District letter LIC-83-320 dated December 30, 1983).

(3)

Installation date of the last new rack.

Therefore, as of January 24, 1984, Ap-pendix A Technical Specification 16, contained in Table 3-5, and Design Feature 4.4.2, Spent Fuel Storage, are effective.
