f REVISED INTERIM REPORT - DER 82-73 POTENTIAL REPORTABLE DEFICIENCY ARIZONA PURBLIC SERVICE COMPANY (APS)

PVNGS UNIT 2 I.

Potential Problem During a template check on pipe clamps supplied by ITT Crinnell per Purchase Order 10407-13-PM-209, it was found that an excessive gap existed between the pipe and pipe clamp across the width of the clamps. This condition resulted in a sliding fit rather than the required secure fit necessary for the associated snubber or sway strut to function as designed.

II.

Approach To and Status Of Proposed Resolution Grinnell has identified the sliding fit as correctable by appropriate shimming and tightening of the outer bolts. Grinnell has confirmed that the clamps are acceptable for use with two or four area contact. However, specific corrective measures are being requested from Grinnell.

III. Projected Completion of Corrective Action and Submittal Of The Final Report Evaluation of this condition and submittal of the Final Report is Forecast to be completed by December 13, 1983.
