This letter is to notify you that the implementation date for the Regulatory Guide 1.137, " Fuel Oil Systems for Standby Diesel Generators",
requirements for BVP3-1 is being delayed until February 1,1984. We had previously committed to completing this installation during the third refueling outage in our April 14, 1980 letter (Quality Assurance Require-ments Regarding Diesel Generator Fuel 011).
This revised schedule is necessary due to the excavation required to install a new fuel oil tank by DCP 390, " Diesel Cencrator Fuel Tank Modifica tions". The location of the new fuel oil tank installation would interfere with other work being perfomed during the third refueling outage. Modifications required by DCP 390, other than the installation and tie-in of the new tank, will be performed during this refueling outage.
This course of action will permit Duquesne Light Company to minimize the amount of interference between the numerous construction activities being performed during the third refueling outage.
