Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334 Quality Assurance Requirements Regarding Diesel Generator Fuel Oil Gentlemen:
We have reviewed your January 7, 1980, letter regarding QA requirements for emergency diesel generator fuel oil.
We presently do not include diesel generator fuel oil in our Quality Assurance Program. However, we have reviewed Regulatory Guide 1.137, " Fuel Oil Systems for 3tandby Diesel Generators," and we will implement those sections which can be accomplished without modification to installed station facilities prior to station startup following the current modification and refueling outage.
Sections which can be implemented include Sections C.2.a, C.2.b, C.2.c and C.2.f.
Compliance with the remainder of the Regulatory Guide sections will require some modifications to station equipment, and therefore, implementation of these requirements may be delayed until the third refueling shutdown.
However, those modifications which can be accomplished sooner than the third refueling shutdown will be implemented when they are completed.
Should you have any questions or tdquire additional information, please contact this office.
Very truly yours, C. N. Dunn Vice President, Operations 800.4220594
