Dear Mr. Eisenhut:

Your January 11, 1983 letter concerning Operator Licensing Examination Site Visits (Generic Letter No. 83-01) requested that Philadelphia Electric Company provide certain information regarding request for site visits through-1985.

Your questions are restated below followed by our responsen for both Peach Bottom and Limerick Stations:

1.

Initial (cold) license examinations for units applying for operating licenses.

Response

Sixty-one (61) individuals will be taking initial license examinations through 1985.

2.

Initial license examinations to extend licenses to a secord, identical unit after initial licensing.

Response

We will not require any testing in this' category through 1985.

3.

Examinations to support certification of utility emoloyees as instructors.

Response

Current schedules will require the testing of six (6) exployees to serve as instructors during the period in question.

Examination to support certification of individuals who are not utility employees but who are under contract to instruct licensed operators.

Resoonse:

l Thirteen (13) non-employee contract personnel will l

require testing to serve as instructors.

5.

Examinations for initial licensing of personnel at operating ~ facilities or for upgrading a license from the Reactor Operator to the Senior Operator level.
