Restricted Movement of Nonstationary Pipe Supports
Dear Mr. Seidle:
This letter provides an interim report on a potential 10CFR50.55(e) item concerning restricted movement of nonstationary pipe supports.
Kansas Gas and Electric Company initially reported this item to Region IV of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on October 14, 1982, and additional information was provided in the Reference.
The Reference stated that the Architect / Engineer was evaluating the 608 supports in question to determine whether or not restricted move-ment would adversely affect safety. The A/E has not completed this evaluation due to the number of hangers that must be analyzed. However, it is anticipated that the evaluation will be completed within the next month.
The status of this evaluation will be reported to you on or before April 25, 1983. In the interim, please direct any questions concerning this subject to me or to Mr. Otto Maynard of my staff.
