As requested by the Reference, the purpose of this lette: js to inf orm the Staf f of the revised completion schedule for t'w %rge Line thermal stratification generic bounding analysis.

This schedule for comp 1 'a; kas discussed during an August 14, 1991 conference call with au Jtaff and agreed to during an NRC review meeting of the CEOG Surgn Line analysis program held on September 18 and 19, 1991 in Windsot, CT.
The generic bounding analysis provided in the final report will demonstrate the structural integrity of CEOG member utility surge lines is maintained for a forty year design life.
In addition, the final report will verify that no hardware modifications are required for the present surge lines.
It is our understanding, based upon the September review meeting, that submittal of the final report meets the requirements for completion of NRC Dulletin 88-11 action item 1.b.
