Interim Report for Potentially Reportable Deficiency Under 10CFR50.55(e) Regarding ITT Barton Pressure Transducers / Transmitters Mounted on Rockwell International's Hydrogen Recombiners Description Of The Deficiency-Rockwell International has determined that the ITT Barton Pressure Transducer (Part No. 04R-29098 4 20nA) will not withstand the test parameter for radiation of-l x 10I r ds.
The testing is a part of Rockwell International's-a ongoing IEEE 323 qualification testing of hydrogen recombiners.
The ITT Barton Pressure Transducer is used to measure differential or absolute pressure. This was reported to the NRC by Rockwell International under 10CFR21 in a letter dated October 21,1982 (attached).
Rockwell International is the supplier of safety-related hydrogen recombiners for Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 2; consequently, this matter is considered a potentially reportable deficiency under 10CFR50.55(e).
1 The corrective action and analysis of safety implications for Nine Mile Point Unit 2 will be included in the final report, which will be submitted by February 11, 1983.
