Interim 10CFR50.55 (e) Report - Inadequate Material Control for Special Scope Items
Dear Mr. Seidle :
This letter provides an interim 10CFR50.55(e) report on inadequate material control for special scope items as described in Reference 1.
Additional information concerning this subject was also included in Reference 2.
D1niel International Corporation has closed Corrective Action Report 1-M-0014 for II/I heater supports and Bechtel Power Corporation has had some success in reducing the number and types of special scope materials in question through their review of vendor documentation. Ilowever, a number of indeterminate material items have been identified prior to beginning any further investigation or analysis of the installed special scope items in question. It is anticipated that this review, along with the investigation and analysis process, will take several months to complete.
A status report on this subject will be submitted on or before June 1, 1983. In the interim, please direct any questions concerning this subject to me or Mr. Otto Maynard of my staff.
