Catawba Nuclear Station Docket Nos. 50-413 and 50-114 Catawba Emergency Plan Review, Revision 90-2 Request For Extension Duke Power has received the NRC's letter dated September 12, 1991 which provided the NRC's review of the changes made in Revision 90-2 to the Catawba Emergency Plan.. The letter requested that Duke Power provide supporting documentation or corrections to changes involving Emergency Action Levels (EAL) unich appear 'to decrease the effectiveness of the Plan and are inconsistent with the guit.. re of NUREG-0654, Appendix A. This information was requested within 45 days of the date of the letter.
Pursuant to a telephone conversation with Region II on October 3,1991, Duke Power requests an extension for its respon,e until November 30, 1991.
Based on this conversation, it is Duke's understanding that this extension would be acceptable.
A major reorganization impacting Catawba Nuclear Station is underway at Duke Power Company which affects all groups within the Nuclear Production Department at the station.
The new organization will be in place by November 1,.1991. The additional time is needed to allow the new organization to review what has transpired on EAL changes in the past, provide additionaljustification, and gain consensus of agreement for any corrections to the original submittal.
