On August 12, 1983, Georgia Power Ccupany subnitted to NRC a revision of the inservice inspection programs (includes inservice testing) for Hatch Units 1 and 2.
%e program revisions are a voluntary update to the 1980 edition of ASME Section XI with addenda through Winter 1980.
Both the revised progres'and the transmittal letter stated that the updated progres would~becm e effective January 1, 1984.
Due to the extensive nature of the' update plus problens (e.g., IGSOC) associated with both Hatch units, the inservice inspection / inservice testing plans which implenent the aforenentioned voluntary progra revisions were not available to site personnel on January 1,1984.
We inservice testing r
plans for both Hatch units and the inservice inspection plan for Hatch Unit 2 will be provided to site personnel tentatively by mid-January 1984.

Upon receipt of the plans by the site, an implenentation schedule for review, approval, and incorporation into site procedures must be developed.

Please be advised that our inservice inspection plans for the 1984 Hatch L
Unit 2 main recirculation systen piping replacanent outage have been finalized.
%e inspection, including baseline exmination of the new piping, will be performed to the aforenentioned edition and addenda of the ASME Section XI Code.
A nondestructive exanination outage plan for the subject outage has been subnitted to the ph;nt cite and will be reviewed and approved by the Hatch Plant Review Board prior to the start of the inservice inspection work.
