Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. S 552 et. seq., the Government Accouatability Project of the Institute for Policy Studies and I request copies of any and all agency records, including but not limited to notes, letters, memoranda, drafts, minutes, diaries, logs, calendars, tapes, transcripts, summaries, interview reports, procedures, instructions, engineering analyses, drawings, files, graphs, charts, maps, photographs, agree-ments, handwritten notes, studies, data sheets, notebooks, books, telephone messages, computations, voice recordings and other data compilations, any medium on which or through which information is communicated or transmitted, interim and/or final reports, status reports, and any and all other records relevant to and/or , generated in connection with the Case Load Forecast Panel meetings held during 1982 and 1983 regarding the construction of the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. Our request includes any documents related to preparation for the meetings, the meetings themselves, and all documents generated subsequent to the meetings.

Specifically GAP and I request all documents between offices of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, including the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, the Office of Inspection and Enforce-ment, and Region V, on the one hand, and the Arizona Public Service Company ("APS"), on the other, regarding the Case Load Forecast Panel meetings or discussions held during 19 82 and 1983. These include but are not limited to all final and draft NRC analyses of APS' proposals, as well as any notes, letters, telephone logs, etc., generated by APS contacts with the NRC.

If any records have been destroyed, removed, or have other-wise ceased to exist, please provide an explanation of the circum-stances under which all such documents were destroyed, removed or ceased to exist, and produce all other agency records surrounding or filed with these responsive documents which are no longer in the agency 's possession.

GAP requests the above information as part of an ongoing monitoring project on the adequacy of the NRC's efforts to protect public safety and health at nuclear power plants.
