'Ihe unit began the month at norninal1(O'll power, but was shut down on hiay 2 for replacement of underrround cables on the emergency power sptern. After replacement of the cables, the nmde $witth was rnoved to startep on hiay 18 and the rencrator was syntbronized to the yrid the following day. Power was held at nominal 25'li until hiay 22 for 1. PRS 1 pain cabbration and replacement of a Travelling in core Probe (TIP) detcetor. Power ascension was resurned on hiay 22 and progreued smoothly. Tht: unit athieved nondnal 1(O"i power on blay 21 and inaintained that level until htay 31, when power was tr_duced to nondnal 82';L. 'I he reduction was made in compliance with NPDI.S perrnit limitations regarding ibeunst discharpe, l'our cooling towers were required to be in tervice for two unit full power operation rhen riser water temperatures at the time; only three coolim towers were asail.d le.

Power ascension was resumed the following day, after resolution of the 1 PRN1 and condenser sacuurn concerns, ar.d the unit acl.ic; nominal vl. power by the end of the month,
