CANDU 3U Application for Final Design Approval and Design Certification Gentlemen:
Reference 1 requested that AECL Technologies Inc. (AECLT) provide a schedule for submitting of an updated CANDU 3U Safety Analysis Report (SAR) and other information required to support a Final Design Approval and Design Certification review. Reference 2 noted that a schedule was being prepared but was dependent upon completing work planning and scheduling for the CANDU 3 Standard Product Design during January 1995. At the present time, work planning and scheduling that impacts CANDU 3 plant design activities is in progress. Until these planning and scheduling efforts are completed, a schedule for submitting missing portions of the CANDU 3U SAR cannot be prepared. AECLT anticipates that the requested schedule will be available for submittal to the NRC by February 8,1995. If there are any changes to this date, AECLT will inform Mr. D. C. Scaletti, the NRC Project Manager for CANDU 3U.
