I EFFECTIVE EORc 5 4 0 00 f 2 41983 DATE 10-DI-83 REVIEW 1.0 PURPOSE To describe the process control of radioactive waste material that would require solidification or similar processing prior to packaging and transport for disposal.
2.0 APPLICABILITY
- This procedure applies to that radioactive material such as liquids, resin;. etc.,
which may require special processing l
prior to packagi'g and transport for disposal.

3.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Processing, packaging and transport of radioactive material for disposal shall meet the requirements of the NRC,
- DOT, and the disposal facility to be utilized which are applicable at the time of transporting for disposal.
4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 Determine the appropriat e processing requirements from NRC and DDT regulations and burial site licensing requirements.
4.2 Develop an approved procedure for processing the material in accordance with 4.1 above.
4.3 Process and dispose of material.
NOTE:
Fort St.
Vrain has never rade a shipment of radioactive waste material requiring treatment per the PCP.
Spent resin is currently dewatered and stored on site.
No wet waste is solidified.
Should waste mater'f al subject to the PCP requircrents be shipped for disposal, the PCP will i
be amended prior to shipr.ent to more fully describe such areas as.
