SUF, JECT: Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-13 File 0260/L-835.0 Special Report 83-081/0 - Fire Damper Discovered Damaged, Fire Damper Flashing Discovered Unbolted AECM-83/0576 On August 16, 1983, during a scheduled eighteen month surveillance, the flashing around fire damper 1Z77F009 was discovered not bolted to the wall and fire damper 1Z77F014 would not close due to a bent guide track. The requirements of Technical Specification 3.7.7, Action (a), were met and the required hourly fire watches were conducted until the stibject fire rated assemblies were restored to operability.
The flashing around 1Z77F009 was bolted back to the wall on Augurt 17, 1983. The cause was attributed to construction error.
Fire damper 1Z77F014 was repaired on August 27, 1983. The guide was apparently bent during construction activities in the immediate area.
This is reported pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.2.
This had no effect on the health or safety of the public nor did it threaten plant safety.
This is a final report.
