SALEM UNIT 1 OPERATIONS

SUMMARY

REPORT JULY 1983 Unit No. 1 began the month at 100% power and continued to maintain full power until July 14th, when power was reduced 7% during performance of a leak test on the feedwater heaters. On July 15th, the unit was again at full power and continued to operate at 100%

until July 24th, when power was reduced to approximately 57% for  ;

, repairs to No. 12 Feedwater pump high point vent. A new valve and 4

nipple were welded on and the unit was returned to full power operation. Unit No. 1 attained an average rated thermal power of 99.3% for the month of July.
