TELEPHONE 1 (315) 524-4446 EXT. 301 at Ginna MONTH June, 1983 The Annual Refueling and Maintenance Shutdown ended at 0015 on 6/25/83.
The Reactor Power Level was gradually escalated in steps to ~ 95% on 7/30.
Prior to the unit going on line, problems were experienced, as follows:
On G/18, experienced a Reactor Trip on Intermediate range low power.
On 6/19, after tie breakers were closed and unit had been on line, experienced a Turbine Trip (manual).
Total on line time was ~ one minute.
On 6/20 commenced a series of problems with the EH System that culminated in the unit startup.
On 6/25, the Reactor Power Level was gradually escalated in steps to the 95% level mentioned in the first paragraph.
Page 5 GINNA STATION Maintenance Report Summary June, 1983 During the month of June, routino inspections and maintenance were completed, along with maintenance scheduled during the Refueling Outage which was completed on 6/25/83.
Safety-related maintenance included:
1.
Maintenance activities to support Steam Generator Secondary Side Ilydrostatic Testing, and Steam Generator Crevice Cleaning.
2.
Upgrade of Boric Acid pipinq heat tracing.
l 3.
Inspection and maintenance of flydraulic Snubbers and Spring Hangers.
4.
Equipment airlock and personnel airlock inspection and minor maintenance.
5.
1C and ID Standby Auxiliary Feedwater Pump inspection and minor maintenance.
6.
Inspection and checkout of pressurizer heater connections.
7.
Repair of SGB-5, "B"
8.
Changeout of Pressurizer manway cover gasket.
9.
Rod Position Indication Calibrations.
10.
Control Rod testing.
11.
Delta T and T Avg. Zero Calibrations.
12.
"A" and "B"
Reactor Coolant Pump vibration checks.
13.
Incore and Excore calibrations and Axial Offsets.
14.
Steam Generator maintenance included secondary side water lancing before and after crevice cleaning, TV inspections of secondary side, closeup of Steam Generator primary and secondary manways and installation of secondary side blowdown tube lane blocking devices.
