Carbon Dioxide Panels Removed From Service to Allow Planned Maintenance Work AECM-83/0434 on June 19, 1983, Carbon Dioxide (CO ) Panels in the emergency shutdown 2

room, lower cable spreading room, and upper cable spreading room were removed from service for planned work in accordance with a design change package.

Dtiring testing of the design change on June 23, 1983, the manual isolation valve to the main header of the CO system w a el sed per testing 2

instructions. Fire watches were established in applicable areas of the Auxiliary and Control Buildings in accordance with Technical Specification 3.7.6.3.

The work is expected to be completed and system restored by August 30, 1983. This condition has no affect on the health and safety of the public and does not constitute a threat to plant safety. This Special Report is submitted due to exceeding the fourteen (14) day Limiting Condition for Operation time limit of Technical Specification 3.7.6.3.
