Structural Steel Welds
Dear Mr. Seidle:
This letter provides an interim report on the subject potential 10CFR50.55(e) item. This matter was initially reported by Kansas Gas and Electric Company on March 23, 1983 and additional information was provided in the Reference.
Nonconformance Report (NCR) ISN 10381 PW has been initiated and documents the welds that were originally identified in Corrective Action Report I-W-0029 as being deficient. The NCR has been sent to Bechtel for evaluation and disposition.
The status of the evaluation and disposition of this matter will be reported to you on or before October 21, 1983.
In the interim, please direct any questions concerning this subject to me or to Mr. Otto Maynard of my staff.
