Dear Ms. Vietti:

Enclosed are the informational materials requested by NRC staff during your recent environmental site visit to the Washington Public Power Supply System's Nuclear Project No. 3. The enclosed items are listed below.

1. GAME HARVEST DATA - The March 22, 1983 memorandum from Mr. Gary Fenton of the State Department of Game provides information on steelhead harvests for streams near the Satsop site.

2. THREATENED OR ENDANGERED SPECIES -

a) List of Species: A draf t of the Department of Game's "Special Species Policy" is enclosed. A partial listing of wildlife species identified for special protection is included in the draft policy. A listing of endangered plant species from the State Department of Natural Resource's Natural Heritage Program is also being provided.

i b) Bald Eagle Sitings: Mr. Fenton's memo briefly mentions the bald eagle l sitings near the plant.

3. ACOUSTIC TRACKING PROGRAM - A copy of the Chehalis River Ultrasonic Fish Tracking Studies in the Vicinity of the Site is enclosed. This report was an exhibit in the 1979 NPDES hearings (see No. 4 below).

4. NPDES PERMIT - The Findings of Fact (Council Order No. 568) from the 1979 hearing to modify the WNP-3/5 NPDES permit and a copy of the current permit are enclosed. Copies of the findings from the initial hearings in 1975 and the original permit are also being provided.

5. NRC FES-CP SUPPLEMENT - Documents relating to the Council's adoption of the Final Environmental Statement for WNP-3/5 are enclosed.

l 6. GRAYS HARBOR FISHERIES MAN AGEMENT PROGRAM - The State Department

of Fisheries resource programs are described in their 1979-81 Biennial Report.

7. FISHERIES HARVEST / STOCKING DATA - The Department of Fisheries has provided information on salmon harvesting and fish plants for the Grays Harbor Area.

8. SPORT FISHING REGULATIONS - Regulations for sport fishing for salmon, shellfish and marine fish are outlined in the Department of Fisheries guide.

I hope this information will be helpful as you proceed with the environmental review in preparation for issuing the OL-DES for the Supply System's No. 3 project.
