dated June 1, 1983.
This letter requests formal NRC approval of the provisions of Subarticle NE-5250 of the Winter 1982 Addenda of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section III as they apply to examination of inaccessible welds attaching electrical and mechanical penetration assemblies to their containment vessel nozzles.
The referenced letter provides specific details relative to the proposed application of this Code addenda.
This request is being made since the NRC has not formally adopted the Winter 1982 Addenda of the ASME Code due to its recent publication.
